第26屆台灣國際女性影展 節目單元介紹

在#MeToo之後 After #MeToo 美國人權運動者塔拉娜.柏克在2006年即提出「#MeToo」用語作為反性侵、性騷擾的標語。女性受性迫害的方式族繁不及備載,若加害人為熟識者,或面對職場壓力,以及各種二次傷害的危害,都可能會讓受害者更難向外界求助……。另一方面,日趨嚴重的兒少性侵害及男性受害者也極需被理解。今日「#MeToo」與「Time’s Up」運動延燒全球,為期待台灣能延續發酵這波反制力量,本單元將藉由種種性暴力面貌的呈現,讓觀影者瞭解不同類型受害者,和旁人所經歷的心路歷程。   狂女起駕・復仇襲來:亞洲篇 Lady Avengers: Asia, Women, and Chainsaws 梶芽衣子、尹汝貞、陳萍、邵音音、陸小芬、趙雅芝,一群背負血仇、嫉恨與傷疤的女人曾席捲亞洲影壇,惟如此經典或破格的演出如鬼魅在影史邊緣遊蕩徘徊。本單元收錄五部橫跨七〇至八〇年代初的亞洲電影,將她們請回慾望的神壇:石井輝男的粉紅暴力經典《龍紋怪談》、本土拷貝已遺失,卻在法國尋回的韓國異色大師金綺泳「下女三部曲」之一《火女》、邵氏邪典大導桂治洪結合奇情動作與女權反撲的《沙膽英》、台灣女導演楊家雲在類型公式中偷渡女性意識的社會寫實片《瘋狂女煞星》、還有許鞍華導演作為香港新浪潮初生之犢的大膽實驗《瘋劫》的數位修復版。 「女性復仇」為世界影史中不斷輪迴的母題,復仇的情感煽動與女性的浴血肉身挑逗交媾,創造無上視覺快感。七〇年代歐美反主流文化、女權運動大張旗鼓;隨之而來的流行、次文化加上影視產業的轉型擴張,刮起一股B級片狂潮;女性為主角的「強暴復仇」片集其大成,極盡剝削女體裸露與血腥暴力元素,低俗的高潮背後是女權抬頭與社會階級衝撞下的集體焦慮。本單元聚焦亞洲,以「女性復仇」作為跨越驚悚、任俠、剝削、藝術、寫實等不同類型的敘事母題,打破「女性復仇片」作為B級片產物的刻板印象,重新檢視亞洲電影史中國家、歷史、階級、性別與身體之間的永恆纏結。   愛與希望的灰色維度  Gray Dynamics of Love and Hope 人生的歷程,是從各種不確定因素中,來回確認並釐清事物的本質。這種不斷在均衡與失衡中拉扯,在隨時轉化又不斷重複的灰色地帶中遊走的過程,被稱為「灰度哲學」。女人難為,當面臨母性與財務危機的牴觸、外遇或婚姻的觸礁、疾病和精神崩潰的邊緣、亦或親情或愛情間難捨的愛恨糾葛時,會身處甚麼樣的灰色維度裡?灰色維度又離愛和希望多近多遠呢?伴隨淚水與歡笑,本單元將帶給女性滿滿的療癒能量。   你的國家不是你的國家 When Your Country Is Not Your Own. 獨裁者的霸權政治、歷史遺忘與再次書寫、恐怖分子與戰爭流離、難民兒童的飄渺未來、內戰亡者的遺族心聲、消失中的國界和不被承認的主權……,那些讓人心痛無力的國際新聞,是否只能選擇漠視?有哪些情境讓我們似曾相識?性奴與身體買賣、骨肉離散和家園重建、異地謀生或挺而出聲……,當女性面對國情紛擾,又會面臨何等處境?本單元集結當代全球關注的國家議題,看見「原生與異鄉」、「離散與邊緣」、「政治與個人」之間的各種狀態與離情。   焦點影人:喬瑟琳・薩博 Master in Focus: Jocelyne SAAB 被譽為中東電影史上不可或缺的重量級導演、黎巴嫩紀錄片先驅,喬瑟琳・薩博(1948-2019)的電影不僅佔據黎巴嫩電影開創性位置,更是散文電影類型(Essay Film)的重要鉅作。她的電影充滿詩意,映照出不願輕易妥協的靈魂,有著克里斯・馬克(Chris MARKER)詩性的語言與敘事旁白,日記電影般的質地則讓人想起瓊納斯.米開斯(Jonas MEKAS)。但她面對深陷戰火的家鄉,以犀利精準卻不失靈動細膩的手法,紀錄流離失所的人們、荷槍實彈的軍人,乃至砲火轟隆與片刻歇息之間的眾生相,其挖掘戰爭背後複雜層次的驚人細膩度,讓喬瑟琳・薩博的電影風格獨樹一幟。 廣播電視記者出身的她,因黎巴嫩內戰投身戰爭前線,轉為成為紀錄片導演,時年不到三十歲,便以史詩級作品「黎巴嫩三部曲」奠定影史地位。1985年始拍攝劇情片,多元的風格帶出截然不同的韻味,一生創作無數,創作後期更橫跨攝影、裝置藝術等多樣媒材,並於2013創辦文化對抗電影節。 不論紀錄片、劇情片,喬瑟琳・薩博的電影總是負載著歷史重量。經歷戰爭不代表恆定的死寂,破壞乃一瞬的時間軸上,喬瑟琳・薩博的影像採取了積極打撈、處理,甚至建構記憶的位置,藉由記憶與現實的交錯迴聲,對抗遺忘。          亞洲新銳短片 Asian Shorts Shout! 少數群體欲透過電影創作擁有文化話語權,仰賴的不僅是技術門檻的降低,還需要整體社會結構的改變。當代多元政治所提出的省思,除了揭露產製場域中性別與族裔交織運作的影響外,也讓亞洲女性導演的獨到視野有更多發揮的機會。此單元放映的短片不約而同地,皆圍繞著女性不同身分的自我與家之間的緊密交纏、或由此延伸出的偶發事件,凸顯了性別化的家對女性的影響,而每部片別樹一幟的風格,更是令人激賞。   酷兒製噪 Queering Voices 婚姻平權彩虹遍地,一片風光明媚地讓人瞧不見光背後的陰影,聽不見歡呼聲中的雜音。壓迫與結構重疊交錯,讓人或無法或無意躋身於特許的幸福之中。是時候再次走進幽暗,側耳傾聽依然椎心的無聲吶喊,溫柔凝視依然掙扎的怪美妖身。   紀念芭芭拉・漢默爾  Remembering Barbara HAMMER 緬懷故友的其中一個方式,是再次感念她曾說過的話、做過的事、拍過的電影。身為美國酷兒實驗電影的先驅者,她的作品自始至終都具有高度的政治性,她站在女性、女同志、酷兒這三者時而分立、時而重疊的位置挑戰社會規範及電影體制,關注認同、性、身體,以及年老和死亡。伏流在鋒利批判之下的,是她堅持要為女同志開拓出一方天地的溫柔。請容許我們再一次放映她的作品,也請和我們一起和她對話,想念她。   電影正史ㄎㄧㄤ起來Rocking Cinema History 電影與我們的日常、記憶、歷史交相纏繞,又互爲鏡相。本單元由緬懷幾位重量級影人出發,帶出句句思念與尊敬。除了向影史致敬,也少不了動刀剖析,回視人人都愛的浪漫喜劇,檢視其中的愛情關係。狂了更下重手,起肖竄改電影脈絡及國族歷史,在虛構與真實交會的瞬間,讓整個電影史瞬間鏘掉。其中更藉由犀利的訪問,戳破好萊塢神話,反思電影產業中的性別拉扯。而一次次地回望,不僅僅是我們離不開電影,也是電影之所以為電影,讓它經得起我們不斷回頭凝視。   原生吶喊Original Shouts 在大銀幕上再現原住民如今已不再被白人導演所把持,但儘管奪回了族群文化再現的主導權,原住民電影在發行放映和關注度上仍然有限,由原住民女性所執導的作品更是少見,有意識地與作品相遇,就是在挑戰電影生態圈交織了國家、族群與性/別的多重壓迫結構。原住民女性導演改寫過去的殖民者視角,將性別意識注入歷史文化脈絡之中,強調與土地、生態、水的連結,一方面在傳統文化中找到性/別平等的動能,另一方面也嘗試著與之協商進行再造與更新。

2019 Women Make Waves Int'l Film Festival Taipei, Taiwan CALL FOR ENTRY Deadline for Entry: March 30, 2019    About Women Make Waves Film Festival, Taiwan  Established as a non-profit organization in 1993, Women Make Waves Film Festival, Taiwan has been one of the major film festivals in Taiwan and has established itself as the biggest one dedicated to supporting female talents. Women Make Waves Film Festival, Taiwan aims to celebrate the achievements of outstanding female talents, to explore different aspects of women's lives as well as to promote equality and rights of all genders. By covering a wide range of genres, issues, and representations of women, WMWFF seeks to promote great cinematic arts by female directors and to advocate gender equality through films with feminist consciousness and various subjects.  Festival Time & Location  The 26th Women Make Waves Film Festival, Taiwan, presented by the Taiwan Women's Film Association, will be held in Taipei in early October, 2019 at SPOT-Huashan Cinema.    General Entry Requirement    Submission starting from: Jan 15, 2019  Deadline for Entry:  March 30, 2019 for all international film submissions completed after March 1, 2017 ♦Entry fees USD 10 are required ♦We consider creative films of any length, and OPEN to all kinds of subjects. ♦Anything related to LGBTQI communities, women issues and ideologies such as feminism and post-feminism, and current events around the world that reflects the status quo of women. We also encourage SEXY, cutting-edge, thought-provoking and daring films that are innovative in cinematic styles and forms, that explore the aesthetic possibilities of the cinematic forms, and that continue challenging our knowledge and thoughts on various aspects from and about the perspective of women. ♦Submission is OPEN to feature films, short films, documentaries, animations, experimental films and etc. ♦Films addressed to the following issues are preferred and highly welcomed. 1. Queer films We eager for the best and most diverse work by, about and of interest to the LGBTQ community, as to secure a platform for LGBTQ films made by women directors. 2. New currents Featuring works of new female directors, especially the first or the second feature by the future-leading directors. 3. Women Issues Issue-oriented films that have strong focus on women issues, such as gender equality, gender discrimination or any related topics that tackles the current situation of women in nowadays society.  ♦The films submitted need to be directed at least by One FEMALE Director. ♦The films submitted must be Taiwan Premiere. ♦The films submitted must have been completed after March 15, 2016. ♦Entrants must submit completed work. Works-in-progress are not accepted. ♦For submission, the submitted films should be presented with English dialogue or in their original versions with English subtitles. We advise you to also subtitle films if they are spoken in English which is hard to grasp for non-native speakers, i.e. an accent or slang. ♦Films that have been submitted for consideration in previous years are not eligible.  How to Submit Your Film    ♦To submit, please fill in our entry form here. ♦Or, the entrants can also click to submit via Filmfreeway. Please make sure to have online screener available and include as many information as possible.  How to Pay the Entry Fees ♦If you submit via Filmfreeway, you will complete the payment through its website. ♦If you submit via filling out the entry form in our Official Website, after you submit the entry form, you will receive the payment link from us. Please complete the payment by following the instruction in the email.  Note: Online screener with secured password or high-res digital file are highly preferred, while WMWFF also accepts Two DVD screeners (in NTSC Format) by post / courier. Your entry will only be accepted if WMWFF receive complete entry form (including valid screeners) AND entry fees on time.  If your submission is successful, you will receive a confirmation e-mail which you can print for your records. Incomplete applications will not be taken into consideration.    Selection Procedure, Authorization and Important Notice      ♦Selection Procedure The festival's program committees select the films that will participate in all program sections. When a film is selected, the festival will notify the applicant by email no later than on June 30, 2019.   ♦After selection, please email the following materials to: submissionwmw@gmail.com 1. Completed dialogue lists in original language AND English 2. 3 different stills from the film (at least 300 dpi High Resolution) 3. A photo of the director (at least 300 dpi High Resolution) 4. Film reviews, if available 5. Trailer or clips of the film 6. Press kits if available   ♦Authorization Once the films are selected, the festival has the right to: 1. Use a maximum of 5% of video from the film for festival trailer, publicity and online purposes. 2. Use the trailer for publicity and online purposes. 3. Use publicity material to promote the festival and our program line-up. 4. Reserve the right to keep all the screeners and / or high res video files of the selected films in festival archive for non-circulating use. 5. Produce and keep Chinese subtitled screening copies in festival archive for non-circulating use, excluding any loan or public usage. Any kind of public presentation is strictly prohibited. 6.Program the film free of charge for Press Screening and Educational Programs (Optional).   ♦Important Notice 1. It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to secure clearance from the copyright holders of any copyrighted materials included within the submitted film. WMWFF will not be held responsible for the unauthorized inclusion of any copyrighted materials within or relating to the submitted film. 2. If the films are selected, all of the requested materials as above mentioned should be provided as soon as possible in order to assist the compilation of the Festival Catalogue.
