    In a bloody attack led by extremists, Bahar’s taken prisoner with her son, later snatched to become a child soldier. After her escape from sex slavery, she’s now the commander of a female battalion, Girls of the Sun. Her goal is to rescue her abducted son. A French war journalist, Mathilde, comes to cover the attack and bear witness to the stories of these extraordinary warriors, united by their quest for hope, life, and liberty.

    French film director and screenwriter. She began her career as an actress before her 2015 directorial debut. Her second feature, Girls of the Sun, was selected for the official competition in 2018 Cannes Film Festival.
