The Vietnam girl, Ying-Chen, Juan has a cross-culture marriage and moves to Taiwan. However, the life isn’t smoother after her husband suffers a stroke. Trouble came from everywhere, including the unfamiliar language and the difficulty to support her life. Ying-Chen is close to her two rebellious children, but feels sorry to her father about the mixed marriage and to even miss her father’s funeral.
Perhaps emotional bonds come with the companionship. Nevertheless, she keeps a positive attitude and says, “Isn’t it supposed to be a happy life with family and wealth? The world breaks down everyone, but many are stronger at the broken places.

Director

TSAI Ching-Yi

Born in Taichung Taiwan in 1994. TSAI studied at the Mass Communication Department of Providence University. She filmed the documentary Beyond the bond for the university graduate work.
