Lover Other: the Story of Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore

French Surrealist lesbian sisters, Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore, played by Kathleen Chalfant and Marty Pottenger leave Paris for Jersey Isle in 1937. They collaborate creating gender-bending photographs, collages, and writing. During the WWII Nazi occupation they perform heroic and imaginative acts of Resistance as "The Unknown Soldier". Captured, imprisoned, sentenced to death, they attempt suicide. They are eventually reprieved.

Barbara HAMMER was born on May 15, 1939 in California. She received her BA in psychology from UCLA, and she earned her two MA degrees, one in English literature and one in film, from San Francisco State University. She is the pioneer of American queer cinema and recognized as one of the most influential filmmakers in the world. HAMMER is known for creating experimental films engaging gender issues, and she created many lesbian films in history.
