In a little town in rural Taiwan, half the population makes their
living from making socks. Due to the big encounter and hit by the
globalization, the factories are closing down. But the only and last man, Black Dog, refuses to be knocked down by the fate. He is determined to save his own business. How will Black Dog, a smalltime sock maker, stand up amidst the crisis?

Chao-Ti HO has created her films with the marginal, non-mainstream subjects, including traditional ethnic music, hybrid contemporary culture, the hidden costs of globalization, etc. She is one of the female producers and directors who are regarded as the new generation’s foremost in Taiwan. She presents her deeply honest approach to documentary filmmaking that inspires critical analysis and reflection.
