My Fancy High Heels

Chao-Ti HO 2011 Taiwan Documentary color 55min Digi Beta
Who makes the brand-name high heels which cost from $300 to $1000? They are the farming woman who tends the cattle, the workers, the managers of the contract manufacturing firm. The director looks into the cruel reality that hides behind the beautiful high heels. From the poor farms in China and the bloody scenes of cows being killed to the fashionable streets of Manhattan, the story of a pair of name-brand high heel shoes is told with the multiple layers of globalization.
