Shaowu lives with her grandma on sleepy Kinmen Island. When her mom died, her greatest wish is to live with her dad, Keigo, a gangster in Taipei. Keigo, finds that he likes being a parent. Now, Keigo must choose between fatherhood and vengeance.

CHEN Mei-Juin

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, CHEN received an MA in visual anthropology from USC. In 1993, she founded Lotus Films and embarked on a career as a documentary filmmaker, pursuing projects in Asia and the United States. Chen received the Most Outstanding Asian Artist Special Award from Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and was honored by Women Make Film in the US; and the Silver Chris Award from Columbus International Film Festival, the oldest film festival in the U.S. As a woman who grew up in a traditionally patriarchal culture, she has long been fascinated by codes of male behavior. Her work has appeared in major film festivals and on TV stations around the world.
