Before the Summer Passes Away

29-year-old So-yeon returns to Seoul from Paris for the summer. She drags her luggage to Busan in the south to see divorced diplomat Min-hwan. In France, they had been lovers, but back in Korea he only expresses ambivalence towards her. Meanwhile, she has won the affections of another man, Jae-hyun.

SUNG Ji-hye

SUNG Ji-hye was born in Seoul in 1964. She studied both anthropology and journalism before graduating from the Korean Film Academy in 1993. She worked with directors Park Kwang-su and Lee Hyun-seung before moving to Paris to study. She returned to Seoul to teach at the Korean Film Academy and direct her first feature film.
