Carla ran away from home with great plans to go to Lyon to study fashion. At the train station her luggage is stolen, and she has to work at a construction site to earn money to continue her journey. There, she meets Lucie, a girl that works at a local bar. Lucie and Carla with their completely different concepts of life are brought together by destiny.
Shortly before continuing her journey Carla realizes that she is pregnant and it is too late for an abortion. Lucie proposes after the child is born, she will take care of the child. But finally, Carla does not want to leave her baby and she demands Lucie to leave.

Director

Julia von HEINZ

Julia von HEINZ was born in 1976 in Berlin. She apprenticed at WDR Köln as Designer for Digital Media, then worked as an author, director’s assistant, and assistant of scenario department for several productions, and studied audio- visual media and graduated as a director of photography from the TFH Berlin. Her short lms Dienstags (2001), Vietcome-Vietgo (2001), Doris (2002) and Lucie & Vera (2003) won many awards at lm festivals. Nothing Else Matters marks her feature lm debut and has been screened at many women and gay lm festivals.
