Reconstructing a Family

Charlotte Røhder TVEDT 2012 Norway Documentary color 36min Norwegian, English DigiBeta
How do we choose to tell the stories from our past? It was a family break-up like many others—but traumatic and sad for those involved. Twenty years later the family of four recounts their memories. How were things really? Why did it go wrong? Have their memories changed with time? Using their narration as a soundtrack,
the film reconstructs the visual imagery and tries to capture the past through the lens of the present. While each family member seems to remember the same incident differently, the separation of the sound and image makes their stories the universal experiences.
