Between Dreams is a short documentary shot on the Trans Siberian railway. In the film people are depicted sleeping in the open third class sleeping wagon side by side and in voice-over we hear their dreams. In the dreams the fears and hopes of the passenger’s everyday life are reflected as well as the Russian belief in prophecies. The film is one of six short documentary films shot as a part of the Cinetrain project, and it is realized solely on the 3,698 mile long Trans Siberian railway between Moscow and Vladivostok. The crew travelled for 3 weeks stopping at cities to charge camera batteries and to edit.
