    Dunya & Desie is a heart-warming, feel good road movie about best friends Dunya and Desie. Dunya is Moroccan, raised with Ramadan, Imams and Mecca. Desie is as Dutch as Cheese, wooden shoes and tulips. On her 18th birthday, Dunya learns that her family wants her to get married to some nephew from Morocco. She doesn’t really feel like doing so, but she has to go to Morocco with her family to meet him. At the same time Desie gets pregnant, which makes her want to learn her own biological father. When she finds out he lives in Morocco, she decides to leave for Morocco to find him. But Morocco isn’t Amsterdam and they end up in all kinds of humorously confronting situations, forcing them in the end to make a decision on certain things in life.
    This heart-warming drama is about the friendship between two best girlfriends who leave Amsterdam, for different reasons, for an eventful road trip through Morocco. The film is based on Emmy Award winning TV series.

    Dana NECHUSHTAN

    Dana NECHUSHTAN was born in Israel and graduated in 1994 from the Dutch Film and Television Academy in writing and directing. After several drama series and television lms she made her rst feature lm, Total Loss. Her television lm Belager won a Golden Calf for Best Actor. From 2002 until 2004 she worked on the television series Dunya & Desie part 1,2 and 3. These series were very successful and won many prices like the Gouden Beeld for best television drama, Prix Jeunesse and the Grote Kinderkast. One of her latest lms Nachtrit won 2 Golden Calfs for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor.
