    Set in the looming days leading up to the new millennium, May, a neurodivergent 9-year-old, experiences an apocalyptic first period while her pregnant mother goes into an eternal slumber. Her neighbour, a strange old lady, obsessively blasts a poem titled Hour of the Flower.
