This immersive documentary revisits avant-garde queer pioneer Barbara Hammer. Crossing over a hundred works, Hammer challenged representations of the female body, illness, and lesbian desire, turning intimate experiences into radical inquiry.
Through newly unearthed archives, photographs, 16mm footage, and intimate interviews, director O’Connor weaves a poignant response to queer lineage. Re-examining how memory is preserved and reinterpreted, the film illuminates art as an enduring medium for intergenerational dialogue and resistance across time.
