    Where Comes Mulan follows artist Zheng Tianyi back to her ancestral village in Huangpi, where the legendary figure of Mulan is said to have originated. The film reexamines the legend of Mulan through memory, tourism branding, and queer embodiment, reflecting on gender fluidity, displacement, and cultural myth

Working across video, installation, and performance, Zheng explores memory, displacement, and hauntology through moving images and collective storytelling, examining how myths and ghostly presences shape diasporic identity and queer imagination.
