    In 1974 New Delhi, architecture student Anand “Annie” Grover is stuck repeating his fifth year for the fourth time after offending the authoritarian dean of his school. As Annie and his fellow students navigate academic pressure, youthful rebellion, and dreams of social change, the film captures the contradictions of India’s 1970s student culture. Written by Arundhati Roy and inspired by her own experiences, this witty and affectionate portrait of campus life blends political idealism, friendship, and a sharp critique of institutional power.

    An Indian filmmaker, naturalist and environmentalist. He directed award-winning films including In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones, written with his wife Arundhati Roy. Since the 1990s, he has devoted himself to ecology, authoring books on Indian trees.
