    There Was, There Was Not follows four women in the unrecognized Republic of Artsakh as they navigate life between wars. What begins as a quiet reflection on post-conflict womanhood becomes an urgent portrait of resilience, displacement, and loss. Their stories, shaped by war, from the front lines to forced exile, form a modern myth of a homeland lost and testify to the enduring power of storytelling to preserve it.

    A filmmaker whose work explores radically personal, alternative archives of places and people, particularly from the SWANA region. Her films include Transmission and Motherland. There Was, There Was Not is her debut feature.
