    Being a lesbian in Korea is challenging. Marriage, a happy future, or even one's own death seem unimaginable. At the age of 22, this unique woman decides to hold her own funeral, challenging the patriarchal funeral culture of Korea to claim the death and funeral she desires.

    A South Korean director born in 2000. LEE graduated from Korea National University of Arts in 2023. She has a long-term focus on the LGBTQ+ community and women’s situation in South Korean society. My First Funeral is her debut documentary.
