    Yoseli has a tattoo of the Eiffel Tower on her back and was arrested at the airport, accused of drug trafficking. Nacho is a trans boy arrested for fraud and formed a rock band in prison. Playing their roles on screen and then those of others—inmates and guards—the protagonists retell each other's stories in a series of dazzling pop tableaux, giving them power mixed with fragility. This documentary-musical comedy is a vivid expression of people deprived of their freedom.

    Lola ARIAS

    A writer, theatre and film director born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1976. As a multifaceted artist, her work brings together people from diverse backgrounds in theatre, film, literature, music and visual arts projects. Theatre of War, her debut feature, premiered at the Berlinale in 2018.
