"When I met her it was as if she had been waiting her whole life for me to come. Waiting for eighty-three years." In order to search for her family's long-lost memories, director WEN Hui found her third grandmother, the only one of her grandparent's generation still living. SU Meiling, her father's aunt, whom neither her father nor her family ever mentioned about. In a small village in the mountains of Yunnan, third grandmother began to tell her life story. This is a story about how China's great changes changed one woman's life. This is the director's first feature length documentary.

WEN Hui

WEN is a choreographer, a dancer, and a documentary filmmaker. She studied choreography at the Beijing Dance Academy and graduated in 1989; then she went to New York to continue her studies in modern dance. In 1994 together with WU Wenguang, she founded Living Dance Studio in Beijing. For the next 21 years, WEN insists to use dancing and drama as the forms of community participation, creating almost 20 independent projects. Since 2008, she started a project that focuses on using an individual's body as the medium of memories and history.
