    In a post-New Order Jakarta, Native Indonesians (Pribumi) are legalized to perform the black magic ritual “Babi Ngepet” to balance their economy against Chinese Indonesians. When Kai, a Chinese Indonesian boy, needs money for university, he asks his best friend Nala, a Pribumi girl, to perform the ritual for him.

    An Indonesian writer and director currently based in Toronto. Her works explore films as a medium to depict the current condition surrounding political, social, and cultural issues. Her previous short Srikandi premiered at the 2021 Toronto IFF.
