    A Self-Made Man i s a documentary that examines the dynamics of being transgender through an intimate portrait of trans youth advocate Tony Ferraiolo. Tony guides kids as young as 8 through the confusing journey of self-definition, when their physical appearance conflicts with how they view themselves. Even as he struggles to come to terms with the complexities of his own life as transgender person, he offers safety and assurance to families immersed in an often frightening transition.

    Lori PETCHERS is an award-winning documentary filmmaker whose films have screened at numerous festivals. Lori received an Artist Fellowship Grant in Film/Video fromthe State of Connecticut and a regional Emmy nomination for her work. Lori received her B.A. from Brandeis University and her M.A. from Emerson College.
