Her opponents call her "The Green Killer". They gave her "The Bullshit Award" for sustaining poverty. TIME says she is a hero ofour times, an icon for youngsters all over the world. The film is about Vandana Shiva, Indian environmental activist and nuclear physicist, who was awarded the Right Livelihood Award in 1993. It's a film on globalization and patenting, on genetic engineering, bio-piracy, indigenous knowledge. In this documentary, the filmmakers follow Vandana Shiva over a two-year period, from her organic farm at the foot of the Himalayas to institutions of power all over the world.
Here Vandana Shiva does battle with one of her toughest opponents, Monsanto, a huge American biotech company, when they try to patent an ancient Indian strain of wheat.

Pea HOLMQUIST

PEA HOLMQUIST born 1947 in Kristianstad. Trained at Christer Strömholm's Photography School. Began as a fashion photograher, then chose to become a war photographer in S.E Asia. Trained at the Swedish Television as a director of photography. From 1975, freelance documentary film maker and producer, working mainly in the Middle East and in Europe. PeA Holmquist has directed and produced more than 50 documentary films, among them several prize winning films sold all over the world.

Suzannie KHARDALAN

Suzanne Khardalian is an independent film maker and ioumalist, bom in Beirut 1956. She studied journalism in Beirut and Paris. She was the chief editor for the Armenian Daily Newspaper "Gamk" in Paris. She is now working as a writer and as a filmmaker in Sweden.
