    The Amazon Angel. A Portrait of Lena Vandrey

    This film portrait comes from a double urge: Lena Vandrey meets our cinematographic universe and we are exposed to her paintings, her space and her collection of dolls. The Amazon Ange. A Portrait of Lena Vandrey crosses imaginaries and mythologies: the South, the origins, the search of a "Greekness, the search for the magical potential of images, femininity as an "amorous power". There is also a crossing of artistic gestures through the respective media of painting and film. We have invited the painter to become herself body-painting, filmed painting. We have created a mise-en-scène with her paintings, her objects, her space. This is an attempt to reveal the painter as an incarnation of her own personal mythology. -M.K.-K.T
