Hunger for Communication (Faim de Communication)

Caroline Tabet 2002 Lebanon Experimental b/w 10min
In a tiny Beirut apartment, a girl sitting on a couch starts eating yogurt. She picks up a newspaper and starts reading it. In a bathroom another girl appears, she puts on some make-up and acts in a weird way. Now the girl with the newspaper is getting nervous about what she is reading, she throws the newspaper away and starts eating again while the second girl joins her in the room. They are both eating in a very compulsive way bringing more food on the table, giggling, laughing and fighting, gimmicking different states of human behaviors. The scene starts like a game and then somehow evolves and turns out to be a twisted confrontation haunted by urban noises and sounds.
