Contacts: Sarah Moon

Sarah Moon 1993 France Documentary color 13min Betacam
Sarah Moon, a French model turned photographer, was seen as a legendary figure. Her work not only contains fashion shots, but also a great number of objects, sceneries, people and even short films. One characteristic feature of her work is the representational black-and-white images that are achieved through the unique technique of hazy lenses, as well as her mystical pictorial language. This eccentric style was regarded as the guiding principle for humanities and fashion. Contacts is a series of photographic work that discuss the concept of photography. The photographs appear one by one on the screen, whilst the photographer explains her concept, inviting us closer to the world depicted in the pictures.
