A Blue Mouthed Face

She has an incompetent mother and an disabled elder brother. Her life is a struggle for survival. One day, she tells her mother who is fighting against a serious disease to leave her and her brother. After that, her mother disappears. She gets a new job and dreams of a life with roses all the way with her brother. Meanwhile, she gets a job on the recommendation of a monk, and makes friends with colleagues at work with difficulty. She inadvertently joins a group which speaks for the rights and interests of the working class. The monk urges her to leave the group and even to disband it when she has a strong relationship with the members of it. She cuts loose with the members of the group and becomes a disrupter, afraid of unemployment.

Kim Soo-jung

KIM Soo-jung, an independent filmmaker in South Korea, was born in 1980, in Busan. Her directorial debut Imagine has been screened in the Indie Forum and the Seoul International NewMedia Festival in 2011. Her second feature Shoot the Moon was screened at the Indie Forum in 2013. A Blue Mouthed Face is her third feature film which won the Excellent Picture Award at the Seoul Independent Film Festival in 2015.
