    After the unexpected suicide of her husband, Vera's serenity is disrupted followed by a menacing parade of relatives who claim to have ownership of their property. Fear and mistrust force Vera to take the family’s fate into her own hands. Steeped into an ominous atmosphere, the film portraits women's situation facing deeply-seated gender issues that prevail in our times, meanwhile disclosing the social problems in post-war Kosovo.

    Kaltrina KRASNIQI

    An award-winning Kosovo-based director and researcher working in film, television and digital humanities. She is a founding member of Kosovo Oral History Initiative—a digital archive where people's stories are recorded and published. Vera Dreams of the Sea is her first feature film.
