In order to encapsulate the visual experience and sensual intimacy, Carolee SCHNEEMANN took three years to film and produce Fuses. It is captured from a cat's perspective the lovemaking between SCHNEEMANN and her partner, attempting to reproduce the experience as a subjective phenomenon. Fuses was claimed to have sprung huge controversies when it was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. This self-shot erotic film remains one of SCHNEEMANN's classics.
