Anybody's Woman

Bette GORDON 1981 USA b/w 24min English DCP
Named after Dorothy ARZNER's 1930 feature, Bette GORDON's adaptation brings in her unique voices. The recently-restored Super 8 mm film features Wooster Group members Spalding GRAY and Nancy REILLY talking about their erotic fantasies and thoughts on pornography. It represents GORDON's shift into narrative filmmaking in the 1980s while not totally abandoning her experimental film roots. It became a precursor to her feature debut Variety.
