    SHIN Su-won 2021 South Korea color 108min Korean DCP
    Ji-wan is a 49-year-old female director. After her third film was shunned by audiences, she has been struggling for her fourth film. She is put into a more difficult situation when the investors and her husband stop supporting her financially. Meanwhile, she is approached by a film archive looking to restore a 1962 film made by HONG Eun-won, one of the first female directors in South Korea. What starts off as a way to pay the bills turns into a passion project for Ji-wan as she tries to restore this film to its former glory. Hommage is a love letter to film and the female filmmakers who continue to push to have their voices heard.

    SHIN Su-won was born in 1967, South Korea. Her first feature Passerby #3 (2010) won the Best Asian-Middle Eastern Film award at the 23rd Tokyo International Film Festival. Short film Circle Line (2012) won the Canal+ Prize in 65th Cannes Critic’s Week. Pluto(2013) second feature, won a special mention of Crystal bear 63rd Berlin International Film Festival. Madonna (2015) was invited to Un Certain Regard of the 68th Cannes Film Festival and won Halekulani award of 35th Hawaii international film festival Glass Garden (2017) is opening film of 22th Busan International film festival and won the best screenplay in 38th Fantasporto international film festival. Her 6th Hommage (2021) was premiered at 34th Tokyo international film festival international competition and is on the journey including Jeon-ju, Tribeca, Sydney, Geneva film festival, and Best director Best Performance (LEE Jung-eun) nominated on the Asia Pacific Screen Award 2022.
