    WU Yu-Ying 2019 Taiwan color 83min Chinese DCP
    A portrait of the marriage between Long, a disabled Taiwanese man, and Azhe, his Vietnamese bride. Through an arranged marriage, Azhe migrates to Taiwan in order to support her family in Vietnam. As they pursue the dream of a happy family, conflicting values and a tyrant mother-in-law come between them. The Good Daughter is a heartfelt and complex documentary that tells the story of a foreign bride and the immigration culture in Taiwan.

    WU Yu-Ying

    An editor, producer and director based in the U.S., WU began her career by collaborating with David SUTHERLAND on his Frontline series, Country Boys, which aired on PBS. She worked as a documentary producer since 2013. The Good Daughter is her first documentary feature.
