    Twenty years has passed, Treut seeks out the pioneers of that time. What has changed? How have the lives of the protagonists evolved? The film delineates how the gendernauts have grown into their identities over the years, developed their careers and started families, and how their energy continues to have an impact today. New perspectives have been added – such as the relationship between humankind and nature in the Anthropocene epoch – but also the question of how they want to live in old age.

    A German director, producer, and pioneer in Queer Cinema. She began working with video in 1976 and founded Hyena Films with Elfi MIKESCH in 1984. Her feature and documentary films have shaped Queer Cinema for over 35 years. Notable works include Virgin Machine, Female Misbehavior and Gendernauts.
