Marcelle Thirache (born in 1946 in Ivry-Sur-Seine) began her work with photography and exhibits her work as early as 1978. Marguerite Duras’s work with the dissociation between sounds and images and Germaine Dulac's films sparked an interest in Thirache and lead her to choose filming in Super 8 in 1982. Five years later, she showed her work to Yann Beauvais and Miles McKane. In 1984, she started hand painting directly on a Super 8 filmstrip and then started classical painting in 1999, in order to complete this cinematographic practice.
