    The film documents Barbara HAMMER’s relationship with Max ALMY on a reel-to-reel ¾” videotape recorder and microphone. This was HAMMER’s first foray into recording with the Sony Portapak.

    Barbara HAMMER was born on May 15, 1939 in California. She received her BA in psychology from UCLA, and she earned her two MA degrees, one in English literature and one in film, from San Francisco State University. She is the pioneer of American queer cinema and recognized as one of the most influential filmmakers in the world. HAMMER is known for creating experimental films engaging gender issues, and she created many lesbian films in history.
