    So Man Yee 2003 Hong Kong Animation color 8min DV
    This film creates a Hong Kong pre-war inner space and leads the audience to walk inside a nine-square paper to express Hong Kong's bizarre space of crowded streets and narrow lanes. It also utilizes the boundless special effects of animation to express the peculiar space features of the old buildings in Hong Kong. Meanwhile, this film provides some introspection on the present cultural fashion in Hong Kong that eagerly develops "new" build and abandons "old" spaces. It also wishes to urge the Hong Kong people to preserve their unique heritage.

    So Man Yee

    So Man Yee studied Art Design at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her graduate production Very Fantastic received the first prize on animation for The Hong Kong Independent Short Film and Video Award, 2002. Fantastic holds memories for the Hong Kong culture as well as expressing an expectation on Hong Kong. Ming-Yi Sue produced a music video animation for singer Huang yao-ming in 2003. She illustrates for magazines such as Milk; Garden — a series of cat stories and PC Market — comic series. Not only illustration, Ming-Yi also involves with drama and animation production, movie advertising and festival preparations for l-City.
