Fat Attack

Yeung Lok Man 2003 Hong Kong Animation color 3min DV
With the union of capitalism machine and paternal value, the idea that "Being skinny equals to beauty" permeates present-day society. Can "being skinny" really represent beauty and success? This animation, with its unique plane molding, color, and brisk music rhythm, expresses the myth of the people's blind pursuit of a “skinny body.” Just as the director said “Is a skinny body really good-looking? Such a pursuit may lose some foresight because the upcoming trend may be in favor of being strong.”
