    Chi-Chen and Chuen-Mie have one thing in common; both of their husbands died young leaving their wives and children behind. This film talks about how these women, bearing the great pain of losing their loved ones, stand up and fight for the future. Courageous and strong, these women are not defeated by the tragedy but embrace their lives even more.

    Huang Chun-man teaches un the department of language education of the National Taitong Teachers College. Her film "The Theme of Life" received an award of Local Cultural Documentary Video in 1999.
