Father Figures follows a Canadian filmmaker throughout Asia as she examines her 73-year-old Caucasian father's romantic relationship with a 23-year-old woman living in the Philippines. On the wedding day, a lie is revealed rocking both Canadian and Filipino communities.

April BUTLER

April’s career in television production began in 1986 with cinematography and editing for CTV, CBC, Global and for Bravo, SOUNDS LIKE MOTOWN, before transitioning into directing and producing. In 2008, she followed her passion for documentaries full tilt and directed the 2010 Leo Nominated THE BROTHEL PROJECT (Global). April is currently an Owner/Producer at Pan Productions in Victoria BC.

Gillian Hrankowski

Gillian began her career at CBC Television in the 90s and a decade ago exchanged corporate life for the wild and wonderful world of independent production. Seven films later include directing and writing the Silver Chris Award winning NOT JUST A BAD DAY: LIVING WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER (Knowledge Network), producing BRANDED: SAVING OUR TOWN (Global) and producing and writing THE BROTHEL PROJECT.
