In Korean society and art circle, it has been a long-going discrimination and prejudice against women. However, career women are in fact very responsible and devoting into their work. Women in Korea are characterized as diligence and considerateness. Compared with men's overwhelmed self-confidence and greedy ambitions, Korean women in general are lack of confidence. Therefore, it takes more time for women to success in career and let women hesitate to look forward. Especially being a member of cinematic career women, the challenge facing them not only from the surrounding discrimination, bot also the burden of family chores. However, with their devotion into the cinematic production, women in Korea have broken through several obstacles and brought movie into a part of their lives.

Soon-Rye YIM

She studied at Hanyang University and the university Pairs8France, and was an assistant director to YEO Kyun dong's feature film《Out to the world》. In 1994, she was recognized with the award winning short film, 《Promenade in the rain》, and made her feature debut with 《Three Friends》in 1996.
