Freedom to Marry

Carmen Goodyear & Laurie York 2004 U.S.A Documentary color 50min English Betacam
This upbeat, humorous and moving documentary highlights a memorable day, February 12, 2004, when recently elected San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom engaged in ground-breaking civil disobedience as he allowed gay and lesbian to marry at San Francisco City Hall. With speeches of leading gay rights advocates and interviews with seven long-term recently married couples, "FREEDOM TO MARRY" brings a joyful, personal face to same sex marriage at the height of this burgeoning civil rights movement.
