A Boy Named Sue

Julie Wyman 2000 U.S.A Documentary color 57min English Betacam
“A Boy Named Sue is one of the best videos to date on female-to-male transsexual experience. Wyman spent 5 years taping Sue's transformation into Theo. Through the film, she gets to know her friends' thoughts on transsexual operation, the female-to-male transsexual organization in America, and the way to help transsexual people to lead their life again. Theo is a great subject and Wyman is a talented and imaginative documentarian. If you are looking for a sensitive and sophisticated representation of transsexual experience, look no further.” Judith Halberstam, Univ of California, San Diego.
