Who Am I

The director grew up in a Minnan-speaking family and lost her mother tongue after schooling. She fell in love with the aboriginal legends after her first contact with their culture, moving onto Hakka because of the blood tie between the two cultures. The race identity of Min, Han, Taiya, Bunung, and Hakka made her lose her direction at the crossroads of 27 years old. She keeps searching for the answers until she finds them.

Born in Hualien, left-side shore of the Pacific Ocean, I am half in Hakka, but know nothing about it. Majored in history and Graduated from FU JEN CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY in 2000, served as social worker and culture specialist. Started filming documentary because of participating the root exploration of Bunun Tribe, serve as the assistant of Graduate Institute of Environmental Policy,National Dong Hwa University, keeping promoting the Community-Empowering of left-shore of Pacific.
