Maxine Lu, born in Taiwan. She has been active in the fringe theater scene as an actor and director before pursuing film making. She has worked professionally as a commercial film editor, and has directed several short super 8 films. Received her MFA in Media Arts Production at the City College of New York in 2000, she now works as an independent filmmaker. Her thesis project Amy in the Cafe is her first 16mm color sync-sound film.
