The legendary female writer Midori Osaki. Director Hamano createsis 'characteristics would combined with the writer' checkered life and her great works. The film is based on the life of the mystical female writer, Osaki Midori, of"Wandering the Seventh World" who drank herself to insanity in the 1930s. The film earned her the Fourth Women's Culture Prize and a slot on the symposium and university lecture circuit. With barely a pause she began work on "Yurisai"《Lily Festival》, which was featured in October's Tokyo International Film Festival.

Hamano Sachi

Hamano Sachi was born in Tokushima, Japan in 1948, she went to Tokyo to join the film industry, but could not break into the male dominated system. However in 1968, she worked as an assistant director in independent companies, and in 1971, she debuted as a director. In 1984, she founded her own production company, since then working both as producer and director, she has released over 300 films portraying sexuality from woman'perspectives, Hamano was awarded" the 4th women's cultural Prize" in 2000.
