This film excavates the nightmarish persecution of Elizabeth Ramirez, Cassandra Rivera, Kristie Mayhugh, and Anna Vasquez - four Latina lesbians wrongfully convicted of gang-raping two little girls in San Antonio, Texas. The film begins its journey inside a Texas prison, where these women have spent nearly a decade behind bars. They were only 19 and 20 years old at the time that allegations surfaced...

Deborah S. ESQUENAZI

As an Austin-based documentary filmmaker, radio producer, curator, and journalist, Deborah explores the intersections of mythology & justice and identity & power. She has received funding from Humanities Texas, Sundance Institute in association with JustFilms Ford Foundation, Austin Film Society, and many others. Her debut feature, Southwest of Salem, received international attention for the unjust case and has been written about in Forbes Magazine, and many other publications.
