At unanimity, the jury has decided to award Brace for the Storm by Chan Wing Man for the intensity and the delicacy in facing the intimacy of two generations of women. The storm is blowing all over the world but women stand and resist.

在全球動盪不安的艱難時刻，緬甸的一群勞動者仍奮力求生，爭取尊嚴，更不惜冒險踏向未知。施方婷和溫晉豪雙導演以影像開啟一扇門，邀請觀眾共同想像一個在各方面都更加包容的未來。
In the terrible moments we are all facing all over the place, some workers in Myanmar are surviving. They are struggling for dignity and respect and will take the risk for adventure. The director duo Shih Fang-Ting and Wen Ching-Hao open the door and invite the spectator for a better future more inclusive at all means.

這是一則獻給導演母親與外婆的回憶錄。許慧如導演巧妙揉合多元素材與檔案影像，呈現出獨特的影像宇宙。不同的素材無縫相接，宛如夢境與現實交織相映。被拆除的房子成為時間流逝的隱喻，全片詩意的節奏搭建出影像空間，讓觀者得以在其中反思自身及與家人間的關係。
It’s a memoir of the filmmaker’s grandmother and mother, and she weaved together various kinds of images and formats with archival images to create a singular universe. They are seamlessly weaved together to become like dreams and reality intertwined. The demolished house as a metaphor for time passing by. The poetic pace of the film allows the viewers to have the space to reflect on their own situations with their role in family.

This film brings to life the discriminatory attitudes that persist even after the legalization of same-sex marriage, portraying resistance to them with humor. Through playful humor and audacious imagination, it sharply satirizes deeply rooted social prejudices, offering audiences both laughter and an exhilarating sense of liberation.

創作者在有限條件與環境中，透過極簡卻有效的調度，拍出了動人故事生命力。或定鏡，或手持鏡頭穿梭在有限空間中，人物關係隨之張弛而現。巧妙將田野獨特的產業與現象結合自身美學，在有時自然光灑落、有時漆黑無燈的房室，創造出屬於不同角色魔幻的光亮瞬間與黑暗秘密時刻。無一多餘的鏡頭與對話，刻劃出角色日常——櫻桃裝飾、彩色奶油與風扇聲，畫面中不見烽火，戰爭的陰影卻無處不在。人們離開與留下的選擇，如那要來不來的電力，再平常不過。
Working within limited resources and confined spaces, the filmmakers bring a moving story to life through minimalist yet effective mise-en-scène. Through static shots and handheld camerawork navigating tight interiors, the shifting dynamics between characters gradually unfold. Skillfully weaving the distinctive industry and phenomena observed in the field into their own cinematic aesthetic, the filmmakers create moments of magical illumination and dark secrets for different characters, in rooms sometimes bathed in natural light and at other times plunged into complete darkness.
Every shot and line of dialogue serves a purpose. Cherry decorations, colorful frosting, and the hum of electric fans capture the rhythms of everyday life. No flames of war appear on screen, yet its shadow looms everywhere. The choice to leave or stay becomes as commonplace as the electricity that comes and goes.
