Her employer is developing what they hope will be the first Viagra drug for women that wins FDA approval to treat a new disease: Female Sexual Dysfunction (FSD). Liz gains permission to film the company for her own documentary. Initially, she plans to create a movie about science and pleasure but she soon begins to suspect that her employer, along with a cadre of other medical companies, might be trying to take advantage of women (and potentially endanger their health) in pursuit of billion dollar profits. Canner was recently named one of the top ten independent filmmakers to watch in 2009 by The Independent Magazine and honored with a Visionary Award from Dartmouth College for the movie. Since earning her BA with Honors from Brown University in 1991, she has received more than 45 awards, honors and grants for her innovative documentary projects on human rights issues. Canner’s documentaries have been broadcast on PBS, cable stations and internationally in many countries. They have screened at festivals like The New York Film Festival and the Human Rights Watch Film Festival. Upon learning that she has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, Hester seeks to provide for longtime partner, Stacie Andree, by transferring her pension. A wrinkle arises in Hester's plan, however, when the elected officials of New Jersey county ("The Freeholders") deny Hester's humble request. Without transfer of the funds, Andree will lose the home that the couple has spent their lives building together. ■ Content Sixty and The City 2010|Israel|Documentary|Color|70min|Hebrew 66 years old director Nili Tal, not wanting to grow old alone, created an online dating profile and set out to meet potential suiters from the 1,342 responses, filming her journey of touring the world in search for true love. An intimate, humoristic and moving story. ■ Filmmaker  Nili TAL Nili Tal is an Israeli documentary film producer and director. She has produced and directed over 30 films – all of them were commissioned by Israeli broadcasters. Many of them have participated in documentary film festivals around the world and have been distributed internationally. Tal started her career as a journalist in Ha' aretz daily newspaper – one of the leading newspapers in Israel. After 10 years in Ha’aretz she moved to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority, the only TV channel in Israel at that time. She became an active television reporter, being involved in important reportages and documentary films. In 1998 she launched her own boutique production firm and produced important films about various social issues, such as trafficking of women from the former Soviet Union to Israel, organ and drug trafficking and murder of women by their spouse. The Girls from Brazil, her film about Brazilian babies adopted by Israeli families in the 1980’s throws light on an emotionally intense modern human issue, touching upon basic parental rights and international adoptions. Her film Bruna about a Brazilian-born baby, who was adopted by an Israeli family, but was ordered by the Israeli highest court to be returned back to her biological mother in Brazil when she was 2, reveals the enormous difficulties of the most advanced legal systems to make decisions free of external manipulation, and emphasizes the differences between developed and developing countries. Tal continues her documentary and journalistic work today. Casper Wong S. Casper Wong is a New York based writer, director and producer of both narrative and documentary films. Her narrative feature screenplay, OO 1, a suspense drama, has won the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Screenwriting Grant; the Grand Jury Prize for Best Screenplay at Urbanworld Film Festival and the Sloan Fellowship at the Hamptons International Film Festival Screenwriter's Lab. Her award-winning narrative short film, Shirts & Skins, had been screened internationally and was licensed to the Independent Film Channel for national broadcast from 2004 to 2007. It is now part of the Tribeca Film Institute' s curated Reframe Collection. She is currently in production for Staying Well, a feature documentary on Integrative East-West Medicine and the global health crisis. This collaboration with UCLA, is also being developed as a three-part television series. In post-production, is Becoming, a longitudinal documentary of Chinese adoptees in contemporary American families. The project began in 1999 when the subjects were three-years old. They were revisited in 2009 as they entered adolescence. Prior to receiving her MFA in film directing from NYU, Tisch School of the Arts, Casper was Senior Attorney for IBM, specializing in international intellectual property and antitrust law.  She holds a J.D. from New York Law School and a B.S. in Bio-medical Engineering from Columbia University.
